-

If you’re after an award winning story driven adventure then 1979 Revolution: Black Friday should most definitely be something to consider… and today we get not just the announcement that a Nintendo Switch release will be joining Xbox One and PS4 launches, but those all-important dates are also known.

Available to pre-order today (or tomorrow for us Xbox One gamers) with a 20% discount, 1979 Revolution: Black Friday will be arriving on the following dates:

  • 31 July (PS4 NA)
  • 1 August (PS4 EU)
  • 2 August (Switch)
  • 3 August (Xbox)

1979 Revolution: Black Friday has been created by the team at iNK Stories in order to immerse players into the turbulent real-world events of the Iranian uprising, and has received acclaim for a gripping narrative and accurate portrayal of one of the most pivotal moments in Middle Eastern history.

It has been based on true stories and historical events with 1979 Revolution: Black Friday coming across as interactive drama about choice and consequence, chaos and order. Set in Tehran, Iran in 1978, you get to play as Reza Shirazi, a photojournalist who returns home to find his people protesting the ruling King, the Shah. Armed just with your camera, you’ll get the chance to capture emotionally-charged stories and events unfolding on the streets and in the shadows.

But you’ll need to be careful because as you’re pulled deeper into the dangerous world of civil unrest and revolution, the fate of those around you becomes fully linked to the decisions you make… and the path you choose to follow.

Written and directed by Navid Khonsari, a game development veteran who has previously worked on the likes of GTA: Vice City, Alan Wake and Resident Evil 7, Black Friday promises much, especially if you take a look at its accolades and awards already…
