Headup Games and Clockstone Software have been on one heck of journey with their Bridge Constructor series. Their first outing, the inaugural Bridge Constructor, really lacked in thrills and frills, while Bridge Constructor Stunts injected a bit of fun to liven things up ever so slightly. The most recent instalment however, Bridge Constructor Portal, captured the imagination with immensely clever puzzles and ensured it did justice to the Portal name. Now though, it’s time to see if the aforementioned duo can work their magic with another major license, AMC’s The Walking Dead. Surely, Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead will continue the streak of success because the post-apocalyptic universe goes hand in hand with architectural activities, right?

Seven years. That’s how long it’s been since Lee Everett first rocked up onto the scene in the back of a cop car in Telltale’s The Walking Dead, before taking innocent young Clementine under his wing amidst a zombie apocalypse. In something of a role reversal, she’s now got her own protégé to keep watch over, AJ, but everything’s about to come to an end. Thanks to Skybound Games, we’re hopefully going to get the closure we desire after a lengthy, often dangerous, journey. It all culminates in The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 4 ‘Take Us Back’, so let’s find out if it’s a worthy finale.
Imagine being entwined with a tale, and then, after years of emotional investment, finding out it may never reach its conclusion or a fitting end. Well that was almost the case with The Walking Dead: The Final Season when Telltale shut down, until Skybound Games took on the task of seeing out the last two episodes of the four-part series. Hence, Clementine’s journey continues with Episode 3, allowing us to experience more of her increasingly difficult life amidst a zombie apocalypse. But was it worth saving, or should the story have been laid to rest along with Telltale?
Who knew that such a good opening episode of The Walking Dead: The Final Season would be overshadowed by the dramatic events at Telltale Games? It’s a shame for all those who were let go, no doubt, but also for everyone who’s invested in the latest series to see how Clementine’s harrowing journey concludes. Nevertheless, the second episode is out now and, at the time of writing, it appears as though Skybound have given the team behind it a lifeline. Despite the troubles surrounding it, can Episode 2 ensure the series comes out swinging?
Episode 1 “Done Running” has the difficult task of laying down the foundations for the rest of the mini-series, whilst also needing to breathe freshness into Telltale Games’ adaptations of The Walking Dead comic books. We can all agree that it’s become somewhat of a stale experience after three full seasons and the spin-off episodes. Well, the good news is that a fair few new ideas have been incorporated to ensure Clementine’s send off offers something different at least.
About six months ago, the much anticipated third season of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead debuted with a two-part premiere. It kick-started the season with a great amount of action and emotional storytelling throughout, whilst also giving us one of the most impactful deaths of the whole series. Since then though, subsequent episodes have dropped the ball a bit, with the penultimate one being a real let down. Can the final episode, ‘From The Gallows’, at least end the season on a high?
