A Week In The Hub: 18th-24th Oct 2015

This last week has seen a decent number of new Xbox One reviews, videos and standard news hit the pages of TheXboxHub. Which were our favourites of the week? Well, this little lot shouldn’t be missed…

Layers of Fear hitting the Xbox One Game Preview Program this week. Check out the teaser trailer!

For many, the Xbox One Game Preview program is a great way of being able to check out new titles early, help fix the bugs and in some cases, even give the developers enough insight to perhaps amend things to a slightly different way of thinking. Others however will think it’s a big old waste of time, preferring instead to wait until the game drops for real onto the Xbox One Games Store.

Whichever your way of thinking, Layers of Fear is now available via the Game Preview Program and promises to bring scares like you’ve never experienced before. Currently around 80% complete, you shouldn’t be expecting a completely smooth ride, but if you fall into the former camp described above, then by all means check it out and help the developers out. They’ll be looking for your feedback prior to the game going fully live!

Balls of Glory Pinball – Pinball FX2 Review

Zen Studios aren’t one to rest on their laurels, always wishing to push the boundaries of the pinball genre and their own Pinball FX2. They’ve covered near on everything over the years, but now have decided to go down the animated TV show route with a table pack that brings no less than four unique tables. Should you be buying the Balls of Glory Pinball content on Xbox One?

Consisting of tables covering American Dad!, Archer, Bob’s Burgers and the awesome Family Guy, you’ll be sure to find something humorous, engaging and outstandingly bright as you ping balls around in order to achieve high scores and unlock special game modes.

Zen don’t very often do a bad DLC pack and our review of Balls of Glory Pinball seems to point at this one being another great addition to the library.

Transformers: Devastation Review

If you grew up in the mid-1980’s, you’ll no doubt have fond memories of those robots in disguise…The Transformers. The problem is, in the three decades that have passed, you’ll probably be struggling to find a decent videogame adaptation of the cartoon, the films or the franchise as a whole.

But now Activision and PlatinumGames have decided it would be best to take a new route, one that would define the Autobots battle against the Decepticons like never before…Brawling!

Transformers Devastation is quite possibly the best Transformers title to date and one that both 80’s kids and the new generation should enjoy immensely. Our review tells you exactly why this brawler should be for you!

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gets TWO launch trailers!

The biggest launch of the last week was by far that of the latest Assassin’s Creed title.

Ubisoft are back with AC Syndicate, not only hoping that the horrors that afflicted them this time last year have been long forgotten, but also praying that their look at a late 19th Century London will be the best Assassin’s title to date.

The arrival of two characters may just help Syndicate stand out from the crowd, with both Jacob and Evie Frye receiving their own unique launch trailers. It promises to be a game full of adventure, action, intrigue and the most brutal of combat. We’ll have a full review for you shortly but for now, check out both those trailers!

Just Cause 3 story trailer revealed!

There are times when words are not needed. I therefore won’t hark on about how Just Cause 3 will be full of explosions, destruction and madness…you can just watch the latest trailer below and see it all for yourself. The fact that the ‘Story’ trailer is supposed to show off the other side of Just Cause 3, one that points to the game not relying on just the crazy stuff in order to sale, doesn’t quite come off…it’s still full of bangs. Loads of em!

Did we miss anything out? Which were your favourite articles of the week? Let us know in the comments below.
