It’s been a massively busy week in the world of Xbox. Let us take a look back at the very best Xbox One and Xbox 360 news, reviews and videos from the last seven days.
Such a busy week in fact that it’s hard to know where to start but I guess the best place is with the free stuff!
And thankfully the last seven days have seen us Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners treated to a few special bits and pieces. Firstly, thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme, Xbox 360 owners are now able to download the rather superb Tomb Raider for absolutely nothing, whilst Xbox One owners have full unreserved access to the equally great Rayman Legends. Both games should be right at the very top of your download list before they revert back to their normal prices.
One thing that won’t be going back up in price is Madden NFL 15. The EA Access program is one of our favourite Xbox One features and as long as you hold the pass, you will now find that Madden 15 is available for free alongside all those other games that come with the program. If you’ve got £20 or so spare and aren’t currently an EA Access member, then we’d highly advise you thinking about taking a years sub out.
If you’d rather spend a little bit of your hard earned cash, then this week has seen a veritable feast of games appear on Xbox. In no specific order, take a look at the following…
- Screamride available for download now on Xbox
- Forza Horizon 2 Rockstar Energy Car Pack out now!
- The Trigger DLC available now for Alien: Isolation
- Shiftlings available for download right now on Xbox One. Check out the ‘Making of’ trailer.
- White Night available now as an Xbox One download
- OlliOlli available to download now on Xbox One!
- The Squad Pack DLC drops for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham from 3rd March. Heroines & Villainesses Pack also detailed.
- Resident Evil Revelations 2 – Episode 2: Contemplation available to download now
You may notice that the second episode of Resident Evil Revelations 2 is out now but before you go and get your download moving for that, you may wish to check out our review of Episode 1. It’s one of our most favourite Resi Evil experiences of recent years and really is worth checking it.
We also had a look at the latest DLC for Trials Fusion on Xbox One. Previous downloadable content for RedLynx’s trials title has been rather damn decent…is Fault One Zero? Our review tells all.
There is also a new card/action hybrid game available on Xbox One. We have to admit to Hand of Fate going slightly under the radar but we’ve been mighty impressed with what it brings new gen owners with a fresh concept that mixes combat, strategy and luck superbly. Our Hand of Fate review should be enough to tempt you in to a purchase.
Finally for this week we couldn’t let things go without pointing you towards some massive announcements of new games on Xbox One. Elite Dangerous will be making the jump from PC to console with a 2015 XO release, whilst we should also be seeing  some brilliant open world gameplay with both Mad Max and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain at the beginning of September. Card fans meanwhile should be keeping their eyes open for the release of Magic Duels: Origins and its free-to-play mode.
All that however pales into the background when put alongside what we class as the biggest news of the week.
Rock Band 4 has been announced and will be dropping this year…there can be nothing more exciting than that!
Catch ya next week.
