A Week In The Hub: 5th-11th July 2015

After a quiet couple of weeks, the world of Xbox jumped back into life with a bang. New announcements, new videos and new IP’s have all been centre stage over the last seven days, but which were our favourites?

1) WWE 2K16 is looking to raise some hell with the cover star announcement

The week kicked off with the unveiling of the latest WWE superstar to grace the cover of 2K’s upcoming brawler. The legendary Texas Rattlesnake, Stone Cold Steve Austin has split opinion in the WWE camp, but one thing is for certain, fans of the Attitude era will be salivating over what is to come with WWE 2K16!

If the cover star is anything to go by, it’ll be a darn sight better than last year’s effort.

2) Doctor Who in LEGO Dimensions detailed

When two of the world’s biggest franchises join forces, you just have to sit up and take notice. LEGO Dimensions looks to be shaking up the increasingly stale LEGO videogame series, with the inclusion of numerous brands all being present from the get-go, but this weeks news that Doctor Who will be making an appearance is a massive one.

With an appearance from the 12th Doctor (voiced by Peter Capaldi), and Clara Oswald and Missy, you’ll also be treated to a full Doctor Who level featuring the likes of the Daleks and Cybermen.

If you weren’t already excited enough about LEGO Dimensions, the arrival of the Doctor should ensure no man is left wanting!

3) Get ready to crush some metal with Transformers Devastation!

We were slightly disappointed with the last Transformers title. Sorry, that should read completely disappointed with the last Transformers title. Rise of the Dark Spark was utter tosh and it was with trepedation that we initially viewed the trailer for Trtansformers Devastation.

Worry we should not though because it looks absolutely brilliant. Admitedly, I’m from an age where Transformers were king, so any reference to my childhood toys will always be anticipated, but the cel-shaded visuals seem to give Devastation an edge over any previous game.

Here’s hoping Activision create something magical!

4) The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure announced by Activision

Activision have had a great week. Not only have they revealed the Call of Duty Black Ops 3 Special editions and Transformers Devastation but they’ve gone in head first with The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure.

It may be at least 30 years since Peanuts and Snoopy were household names, but there’s nothing like a good comeback, especially when it comes in film and videogame form. You may be shocked to see us pick an aged dog over the latest CoD shooter, but there are times when you just need something delightful in your life.

Snoopy’s Grand Adventures promises to do just that.

5) Just Cause 3 Collector’s Edition revealed!

If there is one game we seriously can’t wait for, it’s Just Cause 3. Big fans of the previous titles, Rico’s arrival on next gen is looking like a sure fire hit. But hey, we don’t want a bog standard disc sitting in our drawers. We want a collector’s edition. We want a grappling hook, we want artwork and we want a map of Medici. Ok, we may only really want that gorgeous grappling hook but we’ll take the other items as well.

The collector’s edition of Just Cause 3 looks stunning…and it comes in at a very reasonable price too.

That’s about it for this week. Stick with us and we’ll be bringing you all the latest news, reviews and opinions over the course of the next seven days too…and then we’ll be back this time next week to let you know which were our favourites!
