The games have kept on coming, but in case you missed anything, sit back and let us take you on a little trip over the best Xbox One and Xbox 360 news and reviews from the last week.
And what better place to start than with a series that has created the biggest waves in the last seven days….Assassin’s Creed.
You may have realised that Ubisoft are throwing games out left, right and centre at the moment but their biggest title to date is no doubt that of Assassin’s Creed Unity. However, it doesn’t come without its problems. We’ve already reviewed the game and you can read our thoughts just here, but Ubisoft have decided to acknowledge the criticism first hand, promising to patch Unity asap. The glitches that are currently present aren’t exactly game killers, but we were a little disappointed to see a fair few issues with the most prominent of Xbox One AC titles.
We’re hoping the same won’t be applicable to Assassin’s Creed Rogue on Xbox 360 and our review of that should be up within the next couple of days. To prepare yourself, take a look at the launch trailer (and a number of other superb videos from the last week) in the list below.
- The official Assassins Creed Rogue launch trailer
- The LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham launch trailer is here!
- Far Cry 4 101 Trailer
- Shape Up launch trailer released
- Never Alone launch trailer released
- Ubisoft release a trailer for The Crew’s Season Pass
- WWE 2K15 Next Gen gameplay improvements video
- Unravel the mystery with the ESCAPE Dead Island launch trailer
We also got round to reviewing a few other games on Xbox One this last week. Pure Pool is out right now and is a splendid example of how the excitement of one of the worlds most well known table top sports can be transferred to our home consoles. If you want to know just how good it is, check out our Pure Pool review and whilst you’re at it, you may as well have a little read of our superb Costume Quest 2 review. Halloween may be over but that doesn’t stop the guys from Double Fine giving you a unique, and rather damn good, Xbox One game.
Activision have also been fairly busy recently (perhaps not as much as Ubisoft but still a fair bit), and that gives us the opportunity to throw two more reviews your way. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze may appeal to those who are fans of the hit show; if you are, feel free to check out our thoughts. Call of Duty Advanced Warfare however should appeal to absolutely everyone. The single player is immense, the mulitplayer is yet again class leading and there’s even a co-op mode to keep you busy should you ever tire of the other two modes. Have a read of our review and then get out there and buy it!
In other news, Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer likes to think of Halo: The Master Chief Collection as a ‘thank you to the fans‘, whilst the Xbox One has got itself yet another new game…this time in the form of that smash hit crafter, Terraria. Two more that are soon to be on the horizon are Just Cause 3 (just announced by Square Enix) and a new Telltale Games series, this time in the form of Tales from the Borderlands. If Telltales’ previous forays onto console are anything to go by, Tales from… will be a must have.
Oh, and whilst a fair few of us can only dream, if you play PES 2015 and have a Samsung Curved TV, you might like to check out the upcoming update for the game. It promises something special!
Finally for this week, we dropped a new opinion piece. The big dogs at Xbox HQ have recently been talking about the extra features that have hit Xbox One via its System Updates over the course of 2014. We therefore decided it would be a great time to check out the 10 best features that have been added. Do you agree with what we’ve had to say? Check out the article and let us know in the comments at the bottom.
Catch you next week, when we hope to have even more reviews for your perusal.
