Having made a successful launch on Steam last year, the teams at Serenity Forge and Graffiti games have today announced that their gorgeous 2D platformer The King’s Bird will be making the jump over to consoles – Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch – this February!

“We had an overwhelming reception to the launch of the PC version last year and we think The King’s Bird will resonate even more with console gamers,” said Kevin Zhang, Producer at Serenity Forge. “The game’s precision movements pairs perfectly with any controller and its vibrant art shines on a large TV.”

The King’s Bird is set in a world kept secret by its tyrannical leader, and you play as someone who must navigate through the world uncovering the mysteries and searching for the truth. To do that you will need to run, jump and fly through the levels using a unique momentum-based flying mechanic, gathering speed and propelling yourself around the obstacles in your way.

The world takes the form of ancient and long forgotten cities: some are in ruin, some have statues of Gods in the background, and some are covered in overgrown foliage presenting one of the more unique looking Indie games on the market.

The King’s Bird also features a beautiful and calming soundtrack, alongside a host of mystical birds and other creatures, all designed to create a zen-like experience for the player. Add these to the fluid movement and gameplay on both the ground and in the air and The King’s Bird sounds like a perfect game to escape into after a tough day in the real-world.

If all this sounds exciting, then you don’t have long to wait either, as The King’s Bird will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come Tuesday 12th February. No confirmation yet on UK/EU pricing but it will be available for $19.99 on launch to give some indication.

For now though, you could do worse than check out the trailer below!
