Become an American Fugitive on Xbox One!

Do you wanna be an American Fugitive? Good, because right now we get the chance to hop into the shoes of one Will Riley, an ordinary guy who is facing prison for a crime he didn’t commit. Yep, that’s right, it’s payback time!

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch launch having occurred on the 23rd, and that of PS4 and PC on the 21st, is American Fugitive, a game that throws us into mid-1980s America facing time behind bars for a crime that we didn’t commit. Unfortunately it’s not 1972, and we’re not a crack commando unit, but the life of Riley will have to do in this tale; particularly with inspiration obviously coming about via the original GTA experiences. American Fugitive is certainly one to get involved in.

Running at a price point of £17.99 and available from the Xbox Store (although if you’re quick you may be able to grab a little discount on that), American Fugitive from Fallen Tree Games is looking to establish a new era in the sandbox genre, as we attempt to break out of jail, find out who killed our father, and initiate Operation Payback!

This will see American Fugitive playing out across some 14 hours of gameplay, as a range of characters offer up missions that we just can’t turn down. With fast-paced gameplay front and centre, expect to take in utter top-down carnage as we blast and smash our way through Redrock County in rural North America. The problem is, whilst every mission we take on may help us get closer to the truth, you can bet your bottom dollar that noone providing them can be trusted and their motives are highly questionable.

Thankfully the chance to take in this dramatic storytelling will be interspersed by epic car chases, stunt challenges and enough twists and turns of the narrative to ensure that the A-Team will be well versed.

All of this comes together to see American Fugitive delight the crowds. If you don’t believe us then make sure you check out our full review of American Fugitive on Xbox One, whilst our exclusive interview with the team at Fallen Tree Games will provide even more insight into the wonderful world of 1980s America.

Game Description:

American Fugitive is a modern take on classic sandbox action offering a new 3D top-down open-world single-player experience. Welcome to Redrock County, a sleepy American town with a booming criminal underbelly. You take the role of Will Riley. No angel for sure – but not a killer. Yet the cold-blooded murder of your dad is the crime they locked you up for. Fuelled by grief and a burning desire for vengeance, you’ll bust out of jail intent on finding the real culprit. Once outside, you’ll need to blend with the townsfolk to avoid recapture. Establish contact with the criminal underworld and stay one step ahead of the police dragnet. Set in the deep south of the 1980s, American Fugitive is a love-letter to the classic movies and games of old. JUSTICE AIN’T ALWAYS LEGAL.
