When Remedy come to the table with a new game, you know you need to sit up and listen. After huge success with their previous IPs – Max Payne, Alan Wake, Quantum Break – it’s now time for them to harness the power of the supernatural as Control releases on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

Running as a third person action adventure and priced up at £49.99, Control is available to purchase and download right this very minute on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

You’ll want to get that purchase in too as Control delivers a world like no other, putting you into the shoes of Jesse Faden as she becomes the new Director in town – town being a super secret New York agency.

With the Hiss seeping into this strange world, and you attempting to understand what has happened to your brother, you’ll find yourself navigating through a Metroidvania styled world which opens up the more you progress. With numerous NPCs to chat to, a super deep story to take in, and a world that hugely unpredictable, what Remedy have created with Control once again cements their place as one of gaming’s most interesting storytellers.

It’s not just about the narrative though and in Control you’ll find yourself making use of a rather special gun – the Service Weapon – along with harnessing super powers that see you ripping up objects to fling at enemies, creating shields out of leftover debris, and levitating into the air to create all sorts of destruction.

Our full review of Control on Xbox One is live and will let you know just how things play out in Remedy’s latest tale – pretty much free of spoilers too – but it’s safe to say that if you are looking for a new game to really become engrossed in, then what Control provides is of the very highest quality.

To get a download moving, the usual digital stores will need to be visited. The Xbox Store will sort out the Xbox One gamers for £49.99, whilst those on PS4 and PC would do well to check out their own digital storefronts.

We’d love to hear what you think of Control, and whether or not you agree with our review. The comments are down below.

Game Description:

After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, you become the new Director struggling to regain Control. From developer Remedy Entertainment, this supernatural 3rd person action-adventure will challenge you to master the combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through a deep and unpredictable world. Control is Jesse Faden’s story and her personal search for answers as she grows into the role of the Director. The world of Control has its own story, as do the allies Jesse meets along the way. Jesse works with other Bureau agents and discovers strange experiments and secrets.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
