The Virtual Air Guitar Company are back with any title that hopes to breath life into the dying Kinect system. If you’re a fan of the technology it brings, and the fun that the guys at the indie development studio have brought our way in the past, then you should be getting involved.

Available right now for £7.99, Boom Ball 2 for Kinect on Xbox One takes everything that was great about the original Boom Ball for Kinect (and believe us, it was pretty damn solid), but now throws in a ton more spheres, 50 levels and the chance to compete in a local co-op mode.

“With two players, your goal is the same, but you have an extra pair of hands. Very useful when there’s a dozen balls flying around,” says Aki Kanerva, Founder and Lead Designer at Virtual Air Guitar Company.

“Boom Ball 2’s merry havoc makes it a great game to play with the family on Christmas holidays,” continues Kanerva. “It’s easy to learn and gets everyone up and moving.”

Its features include:

  • Use awesome ping-pong skills to throw balls and smash thousands of cubes!
  • Two-player co-op! Bring a friend or family member!
  • Cute cubes, big bonuses and manic multiball mayhem!
  • 50 brand-new levels!
  • 5 beautiful locations: Tropical Paradise, Snowy Mountain, Crystal Caves, Cloud City and Space!
  • Every level can be played with 1 or 2 players!
  • This game is suitable for all ages, shapes and sizes, and may result in getting seriously fit.

Game Description:

Boom Ball 2 is a light-hearted, full-body Kinect game about bouncing balls, breaking bricks and blowing stuff up. Smash cubes using ping-pong skills in 50 brand-new levels! Featuring: cute cubes, big bonuses and manic multiball mayhem. New addition: two-player co-op mode! Get your friends and family to join in on the fun!Go ballistic with Boom Ball!

Should you like the sound of the above, and want to blow the dust off your Kinect unit, then head on over to the Xbox Games Store immediately. You could of course wait for our full review, but if history is anything to go by, the guys at The Virtual Air Guitar Company rarely fail to deliver.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
