Simulation games come in various forms these days, with plenty of choice to suit whether you’re ideal gaming life involves working on a farm, driving trucks for a living or managing a bus route. Mad Games Tycoon is the latest to arrive as part of this ever-growing genre, delivering a game studio simulation to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. So if you’ve always fancied building a game company of your own, let us tell you a little bit more about it!

Published by Toplitz, Mad Games Tycoon will task players with managing the challenges of launching a game company. You’ll start out as an indie studio and have to work your way up to becoming a major player in the industry. Aspiring studio heads do a lot more than just play games all day though, so be prepared to manage day-to-day logistics, which includes hiring new programming talent and renting office space. On top of that, you need to actually craft games everyone will want to play, featuring over 15 genres and almost 200 sub-categories to work with.

Decision making is crucial if you’re to evolve from a two-person development team working out of a garage into a much larger-scale business that churns out amazing games. As business begins to boom, thoughts must switch to building game engines, cutting licensing deals, and even creating next-generation consoles.

It’s not easy launching a gaming company, but you can give it a good go by investing £24.99 in Mad Games Tycoon on the Xbox Store. Alternatively, PlayStation and Nintendo gamers can visit their own respective stores to make a purchase. And if you’re unsure about taking the plunge, just hang fire for our full review, which is currently in progress.
