Call of Duty: WWII – Shadow War DLC pack arrives on Xbox One

-

If you’re one of the many that still jump back into reaches of WWII time and time again then there’s no doubt you’ll have been waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the new map packs to CoD: WWII. If you’re a PS4 player, then you’ll have already been flaunting the joys of the Shadow War DLC pack but today, Xbox gamers can jump in on the fun too as Call of Duty: WWII – Shadow War DLC arrives on Xbox One.

This fourth DLC pack brings players three new multiplayer maps to get involved in, as well as a new War mode map in Operation Arcane and another new chapter to the Call of Duty Zombies experience.

Starting with the new maps and first up is Airship – a cold and unforgiving map set high in the Alps, one that mixes open stretches that are perfect for sniping, with narrow corridors for run and gun gameplay and close-quarters combat.

Next up is Chancellery and here players must oust enemy forces from the French stronghold within the Chancellery by maintaining control from vantage points and blocking the flanking pathways. However will the night-time firefight cause droopy-eyed mistakes or will you be able to hold off for victory?

The third new traditional multiplayer map that arrives today is Excavation and in this one, players must battle in and around the enemy mine in Algeria. With stolen art and gold on show from the many pillages across Europe, this secret location has a story to tell. With a decimated tank graveyard to fight through or some clever sniping opportunities from amongst the rocks, Excavation is one that will require plenty of wits should you wish to survive.

If Call of Duty: WWII’s War Mode is where you spend your time however, then the new Operation will be just what you’re looking for. In Operation Arcane players are tasked with infiltrating the hidden facility that has been located deep within the forests of the Austrian mountains – a facility that was used by Nazi Germany to exact those deadly evil intentions. With teamwork and determination, you’ll be heading in to steal enemy secrets and schematics whilst destroying any secret technology that remains, however slip up and you’ll be left to die high in the Austrian mountains.

If that’s not enough then maybe it’s the new Call of Duty Zombies experience – The Frozen Dawn, that will tempt you in.

Here players are battling the zombie hordes once more, but this time they’ll be facing Thule, the awakened ancient ruler of the world whose zombie legions march on through the frozen dawn. The Sword of Barbarossa is the key that’s caused this nightmare and now it’s down to Marie, Jefferson, Olivia and Drostan to prevent the destruction of the last remnants of humanity.

Should you be interested in getting involved with Call of Duty: WWII – Shadow War, then you can find it available for purchase now on Xbox One, PS4 or PC for the price of £11.59, whilst Season Pass holders will find the DLC available for download at no extra cost.
