It is considered by many as one of the best games of all time, and when you pair that up with the free nature of the equally brilliant INSIDE, it could be said that this month’s Xbox Games With Gold giveaways are up there with some of the best yet. But lets not worry too much about that for now, for all we really need to concentrate on is the fact that the iconic Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is now free on Xbox.

A native Xbox 360 title that will run equally as nicely on Xbox One thanks to the power of Xbox Backward Compatibility, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is now available to download for free by all Xbox Live Gold members thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme for July 2019.

Coming in with a usual price point of just £6.75, we may not be seeing massive savings by taking SOTN for free through the Games With Gold scheme, but any free game is a much appreciated one, particularly taking into account the amount of love around the globe for this platforming action adventure.

If you are looking to uncover the mystery of Dracula’s castle and haven’t previously played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night – or even have played it to death but wish to do so again – then the free download of this title is something you should be taking in as a matter of urgency. The true secret behind Drac’s power is ready to be unveiled and only by battling through the maze will that be discovered.

Whether you are on Xbox 360 or Xbox One, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night should be taken in. Make sure you head over to the Xbox Store and grab it right now. You’ve got until the middle of July to sort out your download.

If you like what you see and you feel you’d be able to handle more Castlevania goodies, then make sure you also check out the recently released Castlevania Anniversary Collection that is found celebrating Konami’s 50 years of business.

Game Description:

Single Player, HD (High Definition). Uncover all the mysteries of Dracula’s castle with the full version including achievements, leaderboards, and multiple endings. Have you uncovered the true secret behind Dracula’s power?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
