After a few experiences with games in their pre-release forms, I’ve learnt to lower my expectations for preview games. At first, it’s a strange concept: playing a game that’s not finished. And if not approached correctly, a pre-release experience can give you a totally warped impression of a game. The trick is seeing potential. You’ve got to look at the game for what it’s going to be instead of what it is right now.
So imagine my shock when I booted up Astroneer and found a game that – even in its pre-alpha state – was addictive and refined.

Torment: Tides of Numenera – Hands-on Preview
What have you been doing this last week? That’s very interesting… but let’s talk about me. You see, this week I was lucky enough to be invited down to the swanky west-end in London Town to meet the lead developer and the writer of a new RPG - before spending a couple of hours playing this huge game.

Gigantic Hands-on Preview
Some of you might be wondering what Gigantic is, and I would say a description of something massive. For those of you who aren't interested in measurements, I would say it is a game with fantastic potential.

The Final Scoop on Final Fantasy XV
After a literal myriad of delays, Final Fantasy XV is about to be released. It almost seems surreal that, after almost 10 years, we’re less than a week out from its launch. And if you’re not excited, you should be.

Earth’s Dawn Preview – Saving the world can be overwhelming!
What on earth is Earth Dawn?
When I first looked at it I was puzzled. It look’s like a game that is impossible to put into words, but at the same time reminds me a tad of titles gone by from my SNES and Megadrive. It’s been out in Japan for a while now and on the 1st of November, we’ll find out exactly what it’s all about, as developers OneorEight release their 2D side- scrolling action adventure to the general Xbox One, PS4 and PC public.

Everspace Hands-On Preview
The Xbox Game Preview program has been a big hit since arriving on the Xbox One, giving players the opportunity to buy and experience games as they go through various development stages, as well as helping to shape the future development of the various titles it includes. My favourite thing about the Preview program however is the arrival of space games on our home consoles. Whilst this genre of games were previously only something readily available to PC players, last year’s introduction of the Preview Program brought with it the widely popular Elite Dangerous. Now several months, on we have another interesting space title available to players in the form of Everspace.

Manual Samuel Hands On Preview
Most games I have played in my lifetime have usually started with some sort of tutorial or given aids, with a future option to disable them. One thing I can’t recall however was the last time a game required me to control every aspect of my character’s life to ensure they manage to make it through the day as the norm. I mean, difficult titles are out there, we’ve all seen them, but how many require you to do more for the protagonist than you do for yourself? Perfectly Paranormal plan to do just that with Manual Samuel on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
