Console release and physical version of Monstrum confirmed!

-

Hey console gamers – get ready for the most sinister procedurally generated survival horror game yet. Yep, Monstrum is coming!

Announced today by SOEDESCO, Monstrum will be coming to Xbox One and PS4, with both a digital version and physical disc arriving worldwide.

For those not in the know, you may like to hear that Monstrum is a highly revered indie title that feeds on the sinister, and draws on the procedurally generated, in order to create a deep survival horror experience.

Created by the team at Junkfish, Monstrum has sold more than 100,000 copies on Steam, garnering 90% of positive reviews. It’s also been nominated for a Scottish Game Bafta and is currently seeing streaming views in the 100’s of millions, regularly topping 100,000 views a week.

And if that wasn’t a decent enough reason to be excited for Monstrum on Xbox One and PS4, then the fact that each and every fear-inducing playthrough will be different to the next, should. New tactics will be needed each time.

The goal of Monstrum is to escape an abandoned cargo ship, infested by one of three daunting monsters called the Brute, the Fiend and the Hunter. Each monster has its own behaviour and requires a distinct approach. This, combined with the fact that the arena is different every time, makes Monstrum a unique experience with every playthrough.

Game features include:

  • Survive a different environment and monster each time you play
  • Use whatever you can find to outwit the monsters and escape the ship
  • Stay alive or start all over again. Good luck. Start running.
  • Hide, distract and run, but be careful not to fall into the numerous traps

We will be sure to bring you further details regarding Monstrum as and when we have it. For now though you could do a whole ton worse than check out the trailer below.

Will you have what it takes to escape?
