Sit down and listen up – Destiny 2 is here!
The wait for the much anticipated sequel to the hugely popular Destiny is finally over, bringing an array of new Strikes, Raids and competitive PvP action for you and your Fireteam to tackle.
Set one year after the events of the Destiny: Rise of Iron expansion, the Destiny 2 story will see the Guardians fighting against the Red Legion faction of the Cabal, headed up by commander Dominus Ghual. After their attack on The Last City, the Guardians must flee The Tower and regroup, exploring new worlds and gathering powers and weapons to stop Ghual.
You will be going about your adventure through the various missions and side quests that are in play. As with the original Destiny, the PvE element of the series will be prominent in the sequel with many Raids and Strikes for you and some mates to attempt to complete, letting you use the weapons you have gathered across the game.
Talking about weapons, and the way you will equip your killing machines has been tweaked, with you having Kinetic, Power and elemental Energy weapons to utilise in place of the original Heavy, Primary and Special class weapons found in Destiny. Furthermore, depending on the class and sub-class your guardian is based around, you will have some devastating powers to unleash upon your foes or help you defend against enemy fire.
Aside from PvE, the Crucible is back in Destiny 2, acting as your gateway to all things PvP in the game. Modes include the Domination-esque Control to the new Countdown mode, instructing players to plant and defend a bomb or disarm it.
