Had enough of the supercars and can’t get a hang of the bikes? You’ll want to dip into the world of truck racing and today Bigben have released the first details and release date window for FIA European Truck Racing Championship on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The official racing simulation of the ETRC, FIA European Truck Racing Championship has been created using a specialised game engine for racing sims – the KT Engine – and it is that which will be found powering the game when it releases in July 2019 on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
FIA European Truck Racing Championship promises to deliver an all-new experience for fans of racing games, giving you the chance to tame an overpowered, 5-tonne monster – something that is entirely different to driving a racing car or a motorcycle. It’s an unprecedented challenge that will require some racing game expertise.
Sending you off around the globe, taking in circuits in Europe and the United States, ETRC will see races consisting of 12 trucks racing in four sprints of 45km each. This will see special passing techniques coming to the fore, and unique physics ensuring it is an entirely different race to anything we’ve previously been subjected to. It’s not just about going fast though and a reservoir of 200 litres of water must be managed manually to cool your brakes and to avoid overheating, if you even want to consider finishing the race.

The FIA European Truck Racing Championship has grown enormously over the last few years and it is for this reaosn we are seeing the video game emerge. With spectacular races promised and confrontations between these mechanical behemoths takeing place across the greatest circuits in Europe such as Le Mans, the Nürbürgring, Misano or the Hungaroring, signs are good for those looking for something a little different from their racing titles.
