Ditch the ’90s and fight on with ACA Neogeo King of Fighters 2000 on Xbox One

-

If you’ve been keeping a keen eye on the situation regarding the ACA Neogeo ports that have arrived on Xbox One, then there is one series of game that has stood out head and shoulders above the rest, if not in terms of quality, then most definitely in quantity. Now though we see another Neogeo port move on in on the Xbox One space and once more the King of Fighters is back – just this time in ‘2000’ guise.

From 1994 all the way up to 1999, we’ve seen multiple King of Fighters titles arrive with the ACA Neogeo moniker, all promising a better fighting experience than the last. But just because the 1990s ended, it doesn’t mean that the series has ground to a halt and today we see ACA Neogeo King of Fighters 2000 arrive. Is it the best yet? We’ll let you decide on that one.

Priced at £6.39, King of Fighters 2000 was, unsurprisingly, released by SNK in the year 2000, bringing with it numerous improvements over KOF 99. An Active Striker system was key to the fight, allowing gamers to place a bit of strategy into their bouts, whilst all new characters from the SNK Universe dropped in for good measure.

With the usual Neo port options included to allow game difficulty amendments and leaderboard chasing, this is surely the best retro King of Fighters title yet. To get involved in the fight, you just need to head to the Xbox Store and grab your download.

Game Description:

THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2000 is a fighting game released by SNK in 2000. Featuring numerous improvements from KOF ’99, KOF 2000 also introduces the all-new “Active Striker” system where players can enjoy exciting striker-based battle strategies. Plenty of nostalgic characters from the SNK Universe appear as “another strikers”. The “ACA NEOGEO” series has faithfully reproduced many classic NEOGEO masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores. Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games. *This title is based off the MVS (NEOGEO for arcades) version. There may be differences between this version and the versions for the home NEOGEO console and other home consoles.
