DOOM Bone Vodka may just be the best way to get through DOOM Eternal

When all hell is breaking loose and the world is on the edge of destruction, there is only one thing for it – to hit the bottle. And with the launch of DOOM Eternal on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Google Stadia and PC on the horizon, Bethesda Softworks have teamed up with Rebel Distillers in the creation of DOOM Bone Vodka.

Europe’s first spirit that has been created and designed for a blockbusting video game, DOOM Bone Vodka launches today, ahead of the release of DOOM Eternal in November, and giving players the chance to really get in to the mood for the madness ahead.

Priced up at £45 for 700ml of fluid, the first batch of DOOM Bone Vodka is set to hit customers at the end of September. With Rebel Distillers founder Matt McGivern, Distiller Toby Sims, and renowned London butchers, The Ginger Pig, coming together we see the vodka created using the finest quality and ethically sourced beef bones and organic ingredients.

Matt McGivern of Rebel Distillers says, “We’re tapping into one of the world’s favorite hobbies, video games, to offer a unique perspective in spirit production. DOOM Eternal is a world of flames and demons, a barbeque pit with action – a smoked bone vodka is certainly a new take on spirit provenance.” “We’re also excited to partner up with The Ginger Pig,” McGivern said. “They’re one of the best butchers in the country where animal welfare is unparalleled, and a product often wasted can be put to good use. We’ll be making a limited amount of the product in the lead up to the game’s launch in November.

But what sets this vodka apart from the rest? Well, obviously that DOOM branding is a big thing but if it isn’t a drink of the highest quality then no-one will be interested. Thankfully the vodka itself is an organic wheat base, and once the bones have been roasted and smoked, the marrow is extracted and macerated in neutral grain alcohol. To extract the best flavour and the clearest spirit, it’s then distilled at a very low temperature in a vacuum still to collect the essence of what makes this flavour a delicacy.

If you’re a vodka lover then this is a drink for you – promising a dry, earthy start on the palate, with wonderful umami and a buttery feel on the tongue, all before being rounded off with a smokey and peppery finish which lingers on the palate. The vodka is best served ice cold and works great in classic cocktails like Martinis or your favourite mixer / energy drink. The hedonistic should try it in a bone marrow luge.

DOOM Bone Vodka comes in an utterly stunning bottle too, one produced in France by one of the spirit industry’s most exclusive cosmetic glass suppliers, while the labels are produced in England from FSC certified paper.

Interested in what DOOM Bone Vodka brings? Fancy getting hold of a bottle? Head on over to DOOM Vodka and get your order in right now. And once you’ve got a bottle to hand, make sure you create yourself a Classic Martini or a Bone Fashioned with DOOM Bone Vodka the star of the show.

And don’t forget, if it’s the classics you’re after then Bethesda have also dropped Doom (1993), Doom II (Classic) and Doom 3 to Xbox One. Hit those links to read our reviews.
