Here we are once again at the halfway point of the month and the free Xbox Games With Gold titles are changing. Fancy picking up The Escapists for nothing?

Available for free until the 16th November 2016, The Escapists has been stripped of its price tag thanks to the Xbox Games With Gold scheme. Usually priced at £14.99, if you are the proud owner of an Xbox Live Gold membership, then you can grab the game for nothing from the Xbox Games Store.

With Team17 behind it the award winning prison break sim provides plenty of light hearted moments and a real insight into how a prison works. You’ll need to increase your skills, you’ll need to run favours for other inmates and you’ll need to craft some crazy weapons as you plot your escape. Because after all, that’s all that matters!

If you fancy a read of our review whilst you wait for your download to complete, then head over and give it a read. You can also find our thoughts on The Walking Dead variant too – just that one isn’t free!

Game Description:

The Escapists is an award winning prison break simulation that provides players the opportunity of experiencing a light-hearted insight into everyday prison life. Whilst the aim of the game is simply to escape, the detail is in the execution. (Don’t say the word execution too loud in a prison). You may not be in an open prison, but you are in an open world where in between attending rollcalls, mealtimes and doing your chores you should grab every chance to plan your escape. Do you do favours for other inmates earning money and boosting their opinion of you along the way? Or workout and become stronger? Read to increase your skills or spend your time crafting items into homemade weapons and tools. What about working diligently in your prison job, to gain promotions to new jobs with better benefits? Keep a low profile or go out all guns blazing, as long as you escape in the end, that’s all that matters The downloadable version of this game supports English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian.
