The Elder Scrolls Online Update 15 and the Horns of the Reach DLC detailed

-

Developers ZeniMax Online Studios have revealed a whole host of details for what to expect from the first major update to ESO since the release of Morrorwind. So let’s delve into the upcoming content…

Starting with the Horns of the Reach DLC, and it brings two new dungeons – Bloodroot Forge and Falkreath Hold – to explore and conquer, alongside up to three of your companions. Both dungeons will arrive within this DLC, as part of the ESO Plus membership, in August and can be found in the in-game Crown Store.

Bloodroot Forge, which is rumoured to have been created by the Daedric prince Hircine, is an ancient, long-forgotten forge recently rediscovered by the Reachmen and their Minotaur allies. You’ll need to navigate through lava-filled corridors and heavy vegetation to reach the core of the forge and halt Gherig Bullblood’s plans. Falkreath Hold on the other hand is a township under siege, on the brink of falling to the marauding hordes of Domihaus the Bloody-Horned. Your mission is to interrupt the siege, move into the town and Jarl’s Hall, before defeating the monstrous warlord.

Expect to face a variety of new and familiar enemies along the way, with challenging bosses lying in wait. The dungeons are also available in both normal and veteran modes, bringing new item sets, monster sets, and achievements.

The free content, Update 15, is also set to release in August. Players can find new additions and bug fixes at zero cost, such as a new map for Battlegrounds called Arcane University, which is set in a college in the Imperial City. Then there’s a completely new Battlegrounds game type, Chaosball, in which you need to capture a “ball” and hold onto it for as long as possible, at the same time as receiving a healing and armor debuff for you and your whole party. It’s sure to be a frantic addition!

The full patch notes for the free update are yet to be released, but we know that improvements are coming, with customisable combat cues being added to help telegraph attacks and an update to the currency system to allow you to deposit Alliance Points and Writ Vouchers into the bank.

There’s quite a bit to take in there, but you’ll be able to get to grips with all this new content for The Elder Scrolls Online in August. Are you going to conquer these new dungeons? Be sure to let us know in the comments, or on social media!
