Unless you’re out of touch with the world, you’ll know the Defenders are all the talk right now thanks to Netflix. Well, Gazillion revealed today that there’s a bit of Defenders action going on in the free-to-play Marvel Heroes Omega too.

The new Defenders event, on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, will see players facing off against members of The Hand to earn a variety of limited-time rewards. Alongside this event, the infamous assassin Elektra is available as a playable hero, bolstering the number of playable Marvel Universe characters on console to 41. But that’s not all, because developers Gazillion are also introducing new Hell’s Kitchen Loot Box, featuring new costumes for Elektra, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Punisher.

Very soon the Omega Prestige system will debut in Marvel Heroes Omega on consoles, with players then able to unlock “Omega Prestige” status for select heroes. Omega Prestige marks the culmination of a hero’s journey and looks to extend the levelling process considerably. The first hero from the Marvel Universe eligible for Omega Prestige will be Spider-Man, but don’t worry because more are expected to be available in future updates. Achieving Omega Prestige with a character unlocks some of the most powerful and visually stunning benefits currently available in Marvel Heroes Omega, so it’s something to work towards.
