Cyanide Studio and Focus Home Interactive have unveiled a new trailer at Gamescom 2018 showing off gameplay for their survival horror RPG, Call of Cthulhu. Prepare to delve into the Hawkins Mansion as Edward Pierce investigates the goings on there.
Inspired by the classic pen and paper RPG of the same name, Call of Cthulhu looks to create a world influenced by the works of H.P. Lovecraft that’s filled with all manner of cosmic horrors. Mr Pierce is investigating the strange circumstances behind the tragic deaths of the Hawkins family, whilst being helped, and often hindered, by the rather mysterious locals on Darkwater Island. It’s a journey that really blurs the line between sanity and utter madness as he tries to uncover the truth, which brings him ever nearer to ‘the Great Dreamer’.
During the Call of Cthulhu Gamescom 2018 gameplay trailer, we’ll follow Edward in the early stages of then investigation, when the influence of the Great Old Ones is already creeping into effect. To uncover the truth of the Hawkins family demise, players must unearth clues, interrogate locals, solve crime scenes and overcome dangers that are both physically and mentally harmful. It’s well worth having a watch for yourself though in order to get a better grasp on what’s going on.
Call of Cthulhu releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on 30th October.
