Initially releasing back in 2016 it’s fair to say that Enter the Gungeon has come a long way. Now though it’s time to bid it one final farewell, with a concluding update that brings a good amount of new content.
After launching on PC and PS4 in 2016, Enter the Gungeon hit home on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One a little later, ensuring that four platforms of madness would allow Dodge Roll’s debut game the chance to rack up 2.5 million sales. Since that time though, the game has had no less than 3 major updates – all free – ensuring that the bullet-hell dungeon crawler has been something of a success. All that has come together to see us welcome the grand finale with the ‘A Farewell to Arms’ update.
Coming into play on April 5th 2019 on all formats, A Farewell to Arms will allow us the chance to celebrate the game’s third anniversary in style. See, it is this which will bring two new playable Gungeoneers in The Paradox and The Gunslinger, a slew of new weapons and items, a new secret floor with a new boss, and the addition of a community-inspired Rainbow Mode!
Further still, additional features, tweaks and fixes see Dodge Roll keep up with the philosophy to make the player feel “more powerful, more often” implemented in the previous update.
If you’re an Enter the Gungeon player then 5th April looks to be a good day. It just so happens to be slap-bang in the middle of the EGX Rezzed event at Tobacco Dock, London too, and so if you haven’t had enough of the Gungeon at home, can show off your skills there too.
