Explore the Alps as Steep goes free this weekend – starting from now!

-

What are you doing for the next few days? Shopping? Watching the football? Just lounging around on your sofa? Fancy hitting the slopes of the Alps and Alaska for free? Yep, that’s what Ubisoft want you to be doing.

From today, Ubisoft have delivered a free weekend for Steep on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. If you have ever dreamt of pulling off the most insane stunts imaginable, or wanted to paraglide and wingsuit your way over the massive glaciers that Alaska brings, then now you can. For nothing.

In order to participate in the free weekend make sure you visit steepgame.com/freeweekend and choosing your platform of choice.

  • Xbox One: 10th March at 8:01am GMT to 13th March at 7:59am GMT
  • PS4: 10th March at 6pm GMT to 13th March at 6pm GMT
  • Uplay PC: 10th March at 6pm GMT to 13th March at 6pm GMT

If you like what you see, and decide that a full purchase is for you, then buying during the free weekend will bring you a discount, whilst also letting you carry over your progress. Starting March 10th, there will be a 50 percent discount on Steep’s Standard Edition and a 40 percent discount for Steep’s Gold Edition on XBL until March 21st, and a 50 percent discount on Steep’s Standard Edition and a 44 percent discount for Steep’s Gold Edition on PSN until March 15th. On Ubisoft’s Store, there is a 40 percent discount for Steep’s Standard and Gold Edition until March 15th.

With a massive open world, the chance to grab your skis, your snowboards, your paragliding kit or wingsuit, before taking in tons of challenges and objectives, Steep is a bit of a content monster and will no doubt drag you in for a good time yet. Hell, even if you want to just mess around in the snow, then it more than delivers.

If you don’t believe me, or just want even more details, then you could do worse than hit up our full review of the game on Xbox One.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. I’ll give this a go (again). It definitely needed the discount in my opinion for what is on offer though…

Part of me is tempted to get it on the Switch now though as I think it would make a good pick up and play game on the go…
