You may well be sat there patiently counting down the days to the release of the story-based platformer, The Fall Part 2: Unbound. Well, if you are, we’re afraid there is some bad news – it’s been delayed.
Over The Moon, the developers behind the project, have today confirmed that they have delayed the release of The Fall Part 2: Unbound. Even though the game is pretty much complete, they feel that releasing it in the super busy months of October, November and, probably to a lesser extent, December would be suicidal. The extra time will also allow Over The Moon to further polish the game, ensuring that every platform which it will release on – Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch – will have the best version possible.
So when are Over The Moon now looking to release? February 2018.
With a deep story and whole host of unusual characters, The Fall Part 2: Unbound promises to explore themes of artificial intelligence, identity, and the challenge of coping with other beings, with their own quirks, limitations, and personal boundaries. The gameplay aspects and its story are specifically designed to make players reflect on these ideas, through the familiar framework of a Metroidvania meets Point and Click Adventure. In order to do so, players will control A.R.I.D., an abandoned and broken AI who struggles to survive a collapse in her operating parameters. ARID must re-establish her boundaries by attempting to build her own rules before a dark, mysterious software process snuffs her out for good.
“We are really excited about our new project and we want to thank all of our fans for their continued patience. The team at Over The Moon have poured their hearts and souls into making sure that everything in The Fall Part 2: Unbound is there for a reason,” said John Warner, CEO of Over The Moon, “With The Fall Part 2: Unbound, our goal is to give players a deeper level of gameplay and story integration than they have ever seen before. We want this game to shock you, excite you, make you laugh, thematically challenge you and put you in situations you have never been in before. It’s our highest goal that video games can change people for the better, and The Fall part 2: Unbound is as rich with interesting ideas as it is fun to play.”
For now, you’ll have to make do with a new video.
