Get ready to GRIP the wheel on Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC in Fall 2018. New trailer released!

-

GRIP, the fast and furious futuristic arcade combat racer comes from a team partly responsible for the awesome, Rollcage. Chances are it’ll be a bit good then and today a few more details and a new trailer have emerged.

If you’re looking to put the pedal to the metal and shoot some missiles, then the upcoming release of GRIP may well be your best bet. Promising to be the fastest racing game on four wheels, and with the team at Caged Element Inc knowing a thing or two about combat racers, it most definitely has a chance to shine.

GRIP will be coming to Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC this Fall and it should have fans celebrating the re-emergence of blindingly fast arcade racers, by offering a true, wheel-gripping racing experience – where utter destruction serves one true purpose: be the first to cross the finish line.

“It’s a dream come true to once again find myself working on another great racing project” said Robert Baker, principal programmer for GRIP and former lead programmer at Rollcage’s developer, Attention to Detail. “There are so many elements to GRIP that take me back, and I love the true racing experience that Rollcage and now GRIP both deliver. GRIP is truly poised to be the spiritual successor to the Rollcage games of the late 90s that so many people loved playing.”

And in order for GRIP to take the current generation of gaming by storm, we’ll see it offering players speeds of over 767 mph – making it the fastest racing game on four wheels – as we hit roads, ceilings and anything else racers can land their tires on to. 19 breathtaking tracks will be in place, sending us across the most hostile of lands and with 11 devastating weapons and power ups in play – explosive darts, mines, missiles, shields, turbos and more – these will allow players to not only target other cars, but the environment surrounding them.

But that’s not all and racers can pick from a roster of 15 armored cars – some swift and agile, others brutish and heavily armored – with modifications helping further suit any play style. You can also customize each vehicle with an array of varied paint jobs, decals, wheels and other details.

The game will benefit from the enhanced power behind the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, delivering eye-pleasing visuals with spectacular in-game physics and harnessing the potential that comes from building with Unreal Engine 4.

If you wish to know more, then we’ll be sure to keep you updated as and when the details drop. For now though, trailer time…

About GRIP:

Fully enhanced for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, GRIP was inspired by the Rollcage games of the late 90’s and backed by a highly-skilled and accomplished team. Harnessing the power of Unreal® Engine 4 to deliver gravity-defying physics alongside a bristling arsenal of outlandish guns. The game features a killer soundtrack, combined with furious speeds and intense action guaranteed to generate countless unforgettable gaming moments – online or offline – with split screen races and tournaments across all platforms. Born of the age of street racing, and losing none of its cut-throat nature, it’s not enough to just cross the line in GRIP; more important is how you got there and how much destruction you unleashed upon your rivals along the way. From customizing cars to mastering gravity defying maneuvers; race your way across the cosmos, utilizing weapons, power-ups and a destructible environment to ensure not only victory, but the complete annihilation of your opponents.
