Ghost Recon has a lot to answer for. It was one of the very first games we ever played on Xbox Live, helping us establish a base of friends that are, to a certain extent, still together today. It could be said that we are therefore pretty excited to see a new addition to the Recon franchise with Ghost Recon Wildlands.
In fact, it could well be one of the most exciting announcements of E3 2015.
Wildlands is set a few years from now as you lead a team of Ghosts on a covert mission to eliminate the Santa Blanca drug cartel, an underworld power and growing global threat within Ubisoft’s imagining of an incredibly beautiful, yet dangerous Bolivia.
With a large diverse open world (the largest Ubisoft has ever created), Ghost Recon Wildlands will include hundreds of villages and well-known landmarks, local legends and various factions and regions as players venture into a vast world with which to interact and explore. The Ghosts’ upgradable skills, along with a vast arsenal of weapons, vehicles and drones, will help them take down their almighty enemy.
You’ll be able to take on the task solo, or with up to three friends in this gigantic playground full of freedom. With complete flexibility in how you tackle the story, missions or objectives, your approach is key. Do you go in with a frontal assault, or sit back and stealth your way through. It is completely up to you.
“With Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands, we’re moving the Ghost Recon franchise in a new direction, with a massive, beautiful and living open world that reacts to players’ choices,” said Nouredine Abboud, Senior Producer, Ubisoft. “Whether going it alone or teaming up with friends in co-op, players in Ghost Recon Wildlands will never encounter the same situation twice, providing amazing possibilities and creative freedom to cultivate very personal stories and experiences with the game.”
