With Milestone being one of the leading racing game developers out there, it must be said that they know a thing or too about what makes a racing game – especially a Supercross title. Today they are showing off those skills by giving us an insight into the development of Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame.
More specifically, there are focusing on the graphical advancements and techniques being used throughout the development of the game.
Ralph Sheheen, the official voice of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, leads the way as the developer diary takes us through the four rules behind the creation of the visuals in Monster Energy Supercross.
They are:
- Rule 1 – “Get real”: innovative tracks and prestigious stadiums are faithfully recreated using photogrammetry, for maximum realism;
- Rule 2 – “In your face feeling”: if the tracks and stadiums are real, the elite athletes must be real too: all rider’s faces are rendered using the 3D scanning system;
- Rule 3 – “Building media for heroes”: use of special video contribution with cut scenes, such as realistic presentations of tracks, riders and podiums for a truly immersive Supercross experience;
- Rule 4 – “Be there feeling”: all technological techniques, together with the 3D menu and an astonishing artistic polishing make the gamer feel like a real Monster Energy Supercross champion ready to “enter the Arena”.
Check out the trailer below to see how these rules all fit in with the development of the game. Monter Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame will hit Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch come February 13th 2018.
