Hit a world of hostile machinery with Generation Zero on Xbox One, PS4 and PC

-

generation zero xbox one launch

A large open world full of mysterious machines that promise to provide the ultimate challenge. What do you say to such a challenge? Well, if that sounds like your type of game then the arrival of Generation Zero on Xbox One, PS4 and PC may just be what you’ve been waiting for!

Set in a reimagined 1980’s Sweden, Generation Zero lets players loose in a vast open world in which you’re nothing but a pawn at the centre of a life or death game of cat and mouse – all from the moment you first step foot into the Swedish countryside. To survive you’ll need to utilize clever guerrilla tactics to lure, trap and destroy the enemy in the skirmish.

In Generation Zero, you can go it alone or jump in with up to three others in four-player online co-op, combining your battle tactics to make the ultimate enemy for the powerful machines of the Swedish countryside. Throughout the game, each mechanical beast within the world will persistently hunt with intent and purpose as players look to explore, loot and scavenge anything and everything to survive, and should you manage to take down one of these foes then the loot will be plentiful – but will you do so by targeting specific components or by going in guns blazing? Either way, enemies damaged will be damaged permanently, so those battle scars will be there next time you take to the fight, be it hours, days or weeks later.

Our review is fully underway and will be with you in the days ahead. But if you want to get involved in the open-world adventure before reading that then you can do so now on Xbox One, PS4 or PC for the price of ÂŁ34.99.

Game Description:

Welcome to 1980’s Sweden. A once peaceful, rural setting – transformed overnight. The local population has gone missing, and machines of unknown origin roam the streets. Explore this vast open world to unravel the mystery of the invaders, perfect your fighting strategies, and prepare to strike back. Play alone, or together with up to three friends in seamless multiplayer, as you discover ways to defeat the invaders. Do anything in your power to level the playing field; scavenge for weapons and equipment, set traps, and use the environment to your advantage in intense sandbox combat. In Generation Zero, living is winning. • Go it alone, or team-up with up to three of your friends as you collaborate and combine your unique skills to take down enemies, support downed friends by reviving them, and share the loot after an enemy is defeated. • All enemies are persistently simulated in the world, and roam the landscape with intent and purpose. When you manage to destroy a specific enemy component, be it armor, weapons or sensory equipment, the damage is permanent. Enemies will bear those scars until you face them again, whether that is minutes, hours or weeks later. • Explore a vast open world, rendered with the award-winning Apex engine, featuring a full day/night cycle with unpredictable weather, complex AI behavior, simulated ballistics, highly realistic acoustics, and a dynamic 1980’s soundtrack.
