Hitman Legacy Pack remasters and enhances previous locations for Hitman 2

-

After running with a successful episodic route first time round, it would seem wrong to just see all the iconic locations used in the most recent Hitman to be ditched – and thankfully today we have confirmation that those locales will be making their way to Hitman 2 in remastered and enhanced form.

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and IO Interactive have today announced a whole world that sees the Hitman universe move up a gear with the World of Assassination and the Hitman Legacy Pack.

In the Hitman Legacy Pack, all six locations from the previous game – Paris, Sapienza, Marrakesh, Bangkok, Colorado, Hokkaido – will be accessible as downloadable content and will incorporate various new features from Hitman 2, including a brand new progression system, addition of hiding in foliage and crowds displayed at improved fidelity, picture-in-picture mode, strategic use of mirrors, improved combat A.I., new gameplay items like the briefcase, dart gun, flash grenades, etc., new difficulty levels and much more!

But it won’t stop there and as new elements and game modes are continually added to the upcoming game, as well as the previous game’s locations, the World of Assassination will bring a continuous experience that never stops growing, challenging players and defining the past, present and future of Hitman.

If you own the previous Hitman title, then you’ll find that the Legacy Pack will be available for free, letting owners of Season 1 be able to download the remastered and enhanced content once Hitman 2 launches without any additional costs.

“We have been through an amazing journey with our fans and community and are extremely proud of the continued love and support,” said Hakan Abrak, CEO, IO Interactive. “This is our way to say a big thank you and give something back. We have finally revealed our long-term vision to deliver the World of Assassination, an ever-expanding continuous universe starting from Paris in Season 1, going all the way through to the end of HITMAN™ 2 and beyond with our future endeavors. To create a universe like this is not only an ambitious task creatively, but also technically. I am in awe and admiration with our incredibly talented team and what they have achieved.”

With Hitman 2 following up the acclaimed previous game, promising to feature entirely new hyper-detailed sandbox locations full of living, breathing environments to explore, and the freedom to plan the ultimate assassination utilising an assortment of tools, weapons, disguises and a variety of stealth techniques to creatively trigger their own unique chain of events, gamers should be in for a bit of a treat when it arrives on Xbox One, PS4 and PC from November 13th 2018. Throw in the Sniper Assassin Mode and the Legacy Pack and you’ve got one hell of an experience that will continue to grow.

Will you be stepping into the shoes of Agent 47? Does the addition of previous locales sell a purchase of Hitman 2 to you? Let us know in the comments.
