Hydro Thunder Hurricane now free on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 via Games with Gold

-

The Games with Gold scheme continues on into September and the first game available from the 360 side is Hydro Thunder Hurricane. And best of all, it’s playable for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners via Backwards Compatibility!

Developed by the guys over at Vector Unit, who have built quite a reputation on the Xbox One in recent times with the likes of the Riptide GP series and Beach Buggy Racing, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is an arcade style racer released in 2010 that was praised at the time for being one of the best games available on Xbox Live Arcade.

It contains 8 tracks to race against up to 16 competitors on. These tracks all come with hidden shortcuts to give you the edge over your rivals. But it also includes other game modes to keep the excitement fresh, and playing through the Championship mode allows you to experience them all. Hydro Thunder Hurricane also features local and online multiplayer, plus the ability to mix the two. So, if you have a few friends over you could all split-screen and then go online as well!

Available now until the 15th September for absolutely nothing – usually £9.99 – but why wait. Head on over to the Xbox Games Store right now and push the Free button to make this game yours!

If you’re wondering what else is available in this month’s Games with Gold scheme, feel free to read our in-depth article on it.

Game Description:

This all-new sequel to the legendary arcade hit features amazing dynamic water physics, transformable rocket-powered boats, gorgeous visuals and over-the-top interactive environments. Single player games include Race and Championship, and two brand new modes: Ring Master and the explosive Gauntlet. Combine local 4-player split-screen and online multiplayer games with 8 players over Xbox LIVE.
