Hyper Sentinel gets a pixel perfection Xbox One, PS4, Switch and PC release date

-

It’s been coming for some time and now finally the confirmed release date for Hyper Sentinel is known. If you’re after a bit of proper retro fun this is a game you certainly won’t want to miss.

Huey Games have today announced that its retro arcade space shooter, Hyper Sentinel, will be blasting on to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC come May 11th 2018.

A pure arcade flip and scroll shooter, Hyper Sentinel comes with some stunning classic gameplay all wrapped up in a state-of-the-art, modern game. Expect to be smacked right in the face with a hit of nostalgia when you get hands on with it, but at the same time you’ll most definitely understand the modern feel that has been mixed in, all in order to create the ultimate Neo Retro experience.

Super simple controls, fast-paced action and intuitive gameplay are par for the course and Hyper Sentinel promises to be the ultimate pick-up-and-play experience that lets players jump into the role of a lone ship defending the earth from marauding aliens. Want more than that? Well, you’re not going to get it. This is all about the destruction of aliens.

“After a lot of hard work we’re super excited to be able to announce a release date,” said Rob Hewson, CEO and Creative Director at Huey Games. “I’d also like to issue another huge thanks to all our Kickstarter backers who I know will love this game.”

“Hyper Sentinel will take older gamers right back to their roots with an updated feel,” said game creator Jonathan Port of Four5Six Pixel. “Meanwhile the new generation’s thrill-seekers can satisfy their urge for action and epic boss battles without wading through plot.”

If you’re visiting EGX Rezzed in London this coming weekend then make sure you swing by Hyper Sentinel at the Tentacle Collective Stand and give it a blast. We were lucky enough to go hands on with it at EGX last year and were very taken in by what it brings.

We will of course remind you when that release hits home but for now, a launch trailer is below. Not. Long. Now.
