The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker announced for Xbox One, PS4 and Switch

-

Originally released on PC, Wales Interactive have today confirmed that they are teaming up with D’Avekki Studios in order to bring a new FMV title to Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Are you ready to solve the mystery behind The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker?

Due for release in the Spring of 2018, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is a Lovecraft inspired murder mystery in which you play as the psychiatrist. Left to solve murders, you’ll find yourself asking questions – plenty of questions – collecting evidence and attempting to uncover the identity of the randomly generated murderer. Oh, just for good measure you’ll need to try and work out how to fix the madness that has been left behind too.

Optimised for console and now coming with a questions system that does away with the need of a keyboard, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker invites you to enter and explore the shadow reality that your patients inhabit – a world full of paranormal strangeness and horrors that go bump in your head, where all you have to rely on is your own mind. If you do have a keyboard to hand though, and wish to type your own questions, phrases and keywords, then the option will still be there.

Expect plenty of enhancements in the visual and UI departments too as Wales Interactive make Doctor Dekker console ready.

Features include:

  • FMV – 1600+ full screen HD video responses.
  • RANDOM MURDERER – Chosen at the start of the game to combat spoilers.
  • FREE TEXT INPUT – Ask whatever you want, type questions, phrases or just keywords.
  • SUGGESTED QUESTIONS – A new question system optimised for console.
  • MULTIPLE ENDINGS – Find out whodunit, and what happens to you and your patients…
  • MULTIPLE STORIES – 6 main suspects and 5 side-quests inc. John Guilor (Contradiction)
  • SIMPLE UI – View evidence, make notes, watch replays, and see your question history.

“We couldn’t be happier to bring D’Avekki’s sinister murder mystery to PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Our previous interactive movie titles, Late Shift and The Bunker, have been really well received and our growing community of FMV fans have expressed an appetite for us to publish more of these titles. TIMODD is another great example of a modern FMV game and we’re delighted to collaborate with D’Avekki Studios to bring this title to a wider audience.” David Banner, Co-Founder and Managing Director at Wales Interactive.

“Wales Interactive have curated a superb catalogue of FMV titles and we’re really looking forward to working with them on the console releases.” Tim Cowles, Director and Co-Writer at D’Avekki Studios.

“The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker puts the psychology in psychological horror — each character has layers of twisted story to uncover and the player can choose to help them and steer them towards their happiest ending, or hurt them and lead them somewhere much darker.” Lynda Cowles, Co-Writer at D’Avekki Studios.

With the likes of Late Shift and Don’t Knock Twice behind them, The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker should well be another one from the Wales Interactive catalogue to look out for.

We’ll of course keep you up-to-date with its progress between now and Spring 2018. Will you be looking to give it a whirl? Let us know in the comments below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
