Insane Robots to kickstart a rebellion on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in July

-

There are a number of choices available to those gamers who love a bit of card battling, but very soon the whole genre will be turned on its head as Insane Robots gears up to deliver some duelling action. Today, a release date has been confirmed!

And you won’t have to wait too long at all as the robot rebellion will hit Xbox One, PS4 and PC come 10th July 2018, with a $15.99 / €15.99 price point seeing you rewarded with the base game, whilst $23.09 / €23.09 will happily be able to sort you out with the Insane Robots Deluxe Pack (30% pre-order discount), which also includes a Season Pass with six DLCs.

Created as a tabletop prototype with a pile of old business cards, Playniac have created a card battling game that promises to capture what gamers love most about the genre, whilst removing the elements they hate; expensive card expansions, time-consuming customization, farming, and an ever-rising bar that excludes those who don’t purchase more cards.

This should ensure that Insane Robots will allow players to build the perfectly designed battle deck. With only 22 tokens, it is easy to learn and manage, yet full of unexpected turns and strategic depth. But please don’t confuse this with a standard collectible card game for Insane Robots is card battling… HACKED!

In it, you will be found leading a robot rebellion through randomly generated survival arenas, that are full of fiendish card battles. Think Battle Royale (because BR is everything) in a card game. In fact, think 15+ hour single player campaign too, as you try to overthrow the malevolent robot despot, The Kernel and save robotkind. To do so you’ll need to master the battle deck and develop strategies in super-accessible local, online and single-player robotic skirmishes, deploying HACKS and GLITCHES in the heat of battle. You will however also need to use your wits to terminate the competition, battling with over 46 deliciously diverse robots in five hostile environments and augmenting devious droids to grow more powerful and trade cutting, robotic insults with opponents along the way.

Key Features Include:

  • This is card battling HACKED with no costly expansions and time-consuming customization
  • Compete in intense local and online ranked 2P multiplayer battles
  • Experience the epic 15+ hour single-player campaign, overthrow the megalomaniacal Kernel and save robotkind
  • Unlock 46 robots and find over 100 augments to boost their abilities
  • Explore your tactical options to survive randomly generated survival arenas
  • Master the 22-token battle deck and define your own style of play
  • A compelling narrative with over 150 branching story events
  • Explore five types of hazardous environment from lush jungles to barren Moonscapes

We will of course be sure to let you know when that release date arrives. For now though, get a little more info on how the whole Insane Robots hack-a-thon works by checking out the trailer below.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
