Intermediate Exercises Volume 1 hit Rocksmith

It’s always nice to be able to nail a riff from your favourite band, but if you don’t have the basics right, you’ll struggle forever more. Hot on the heels of the recently released Easy Exercises Volume 1 for Rocksmith, comes the latest content addition, one that ramps up the difficulty a little to provide a set of Intermediate Exercises for all to get involved.

It may initially seem disappointing that the latest Rocksmith 2014 Edition and Rocksmith Remastered content doesn’t bring any new songs or genres to the table, but without learning the skills the whole tutoring aspect that this game runs along is worthless. And so ensuring the basics, and the intermediate skills are in place is pretty much par for the course, and that is where this latest set of purchasable exercises come in.

Priced up at a mere £3.99, the Intermediate Exercises for Rocksmith include:

  • Linear Playing
  • String Skipping
  • String Switching
  • Hammer-Ons
  • Pull Offs

In place for both bass and guitar, expect these Intermediate Exercises to deliver a step up in both the complexity and speeds of those found in the previous Easy Exercises pack, as it pushes you further towards your goal of becoming a hardcore axe grinder.

To get involved you’ll just need to do the usual and head over to the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox 360 guitar players, or the PlayStation Store for those rocking out on PS3 and PS4.

Find these a bit easy? Fear not for the Rocksmith gods will soon be dropping an advanced pack too.

Are these exercises what you want to see from Rocksmith going forward though, or would you prefer new tunes from global bands each and every week? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, but don’t forget there are an absolute ton of tunes already available to purchase too.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
