Ready to step into the shoes of one of the most legendary of hitmen? John Wick Hex has today been announced and it’ll be bringing fast paced action strategy to consoles, Windows PC and Mac.
Coming from the publishing team at Good Shepherd Entertainment in partnership with Lionsgate, and developed by the one and only Mike Bithell of Volume, Thomas Was Alone, Subsurface Circular fame, is John Wick Hex, an action orientated strategy game that will ensure you have to think, and strike, like John Wick.
The timing is near-on perfect too as it’ll be John Wick, the professional hitman of Lionsgate’s critically acclaimed film franchise, who will be found returning to theatres worldwide on May 17th 2019, with John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum.
Created in close cooperation with the creative and stunt teams behind the films, John Wick Hex is a fight-choreographed chess game that is being brought to life as a video game, capturing the series’ signature gun fu style while managing to fully expand the story universe. The game is in development for consoles and will be available for Windows PC and Mac exclusively via the Epic Games Store at launch, seeing players choosing every action and attack they make, while considering their immediate cost and consequences. Every single move in John Wick Hex will feel like it has been ripped straight from the movies, whilst every fight will be found contributing to your progress on the job, requiring precise strategic thinking at all times.
Should you be able to get a grip on what is required from John Wick Hex and find yourself performing well, progress in the main story mode (which features an original story created for the game) will unlock new weapons, suit options and locations. Further to this, each weapon changes up the tactics you’ll use and the manner in which you’ll play. Just be aware that ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of weapons you scavenge on the job.
John Wick Hex promises to complement the style of the films with a rather stunning unique graphic noir art design, with the audio side of things will see a stellar cast take hold, featuring the world class voice talents of Ian McShane and Lance Reddick amongst others.
Further information will drop in the weeks and months ahead, but for now, a good old announcement trailer always goes down well 🙂
