There are times when all you really want to do is ditch those mad multiplayer sessions and settle down for a good old fashioned hand crafted, narrative driven, single player adventure. Thankfully, Celeste provides just that.

Available right now on Xbox One, Celeste will see you needing to help Madeline take on her inner demons and journey to the very top of Celeste Mountain.

With a host of characters to stop and chat to, a story that delivers much thought and more than 700 screens of hardcore platforming challenges, getting to the top of this mountain is going to be no mean feat.

But with plenty of secrets to hunt down, a stunning live piano and synth musical accompianment and the most basic of controls, you may well wish to spend a little time with Madeline and her fight for survival.
