It’ll soon be time to dust off that Kinect and get jumping around your living room once more. Kung-Fu for Kinect is coming – do you have what it takes to be a real ninja?

The Virtual Air Guitar Company are, single-handedly holding Kinect together. After rather successful outings with Boom Ball for Kinect and Squid Hero, the guys have succumbed to intense pressure, deciding to bring Kung-Fu for Kinect to Xbox One. The plan is to release in June 2016.

Based on their Xbox 360 title, Kung-Fu High Impact, this new version will see you transported into the game. A 2D fighting adventure in which the player has to fight comic-book villains with real kicks and punches, Kinect will take snapshots of your poses, throwing you into the lead role in your own animated comic book.

Physical activity will be the name of the game and Kung-Fu for Kinect will test your reflexes and physicality like never before!

Features include:

  • Step inside the game and turn yourself into a kung-fu hero!
  • Use your own moves to punch and kick your way through comic-book villains!
  • Leap through the air, conjure lightning and shoot flaming arrows!
  • Star in your own kung-fu comic book!
  • Story mode with 22 levels!
  • 9 replayable challenges for daily fun!
  • One-Shot Mode for staging your own finishing moves!

We will of course let you know once Kung-Fu for Kinect arrives.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.

Looks like a lot fun! I think my kids will love it. And being able to use Kinect for more than “record that” is a plus.
