Found that the addition of Legacy of the First Blade delivered plenty of reason to head back into Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? You’re in luck as the second chapter in the expansion is coming – and today we have full details and a release date.

Shadow Heritage is the second episode of the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey DLC: Legacy of the First Blade. Following on from December’s launch of the content expansion, we will be seeing this second chapter arrive on Xbox One, PS4 and PC come January 15th 2019.

Continuing the story arc that commenced with the first episode, this second installment of Legacy of the First Blade will see you given the chance to investigate a blockade initiated by the Order of the Ancients around the port city in Achaia. Promising plenty of additional Odyssey action, in order to gain access to the second episode, you will have had to have finished the first episode, Hunted, completed the Naxos questline in Chapter 7 of the main AC Odyssey story and reached character level 28 or above. But hey, with the draw that Ubisoft’s latest Assassin’s Creed title brings, those things are pretty much a gimme.

Further to this the whole Assassin’s Creed Odyssey experience will be expanding even more in January. This will the fourth and fifth episodes of the free content – The Lost Tales of Greece – available in January. To start the first of these, The Daughters of Lalaia, players will need to make sure they have reached Chapter 5 of the main story, and are in the region of Phokis. The first quest is “The Village”, and Ubisoft recommend that your minimum Level is at least that of 13. To kickoff A Poet’s Legacy – the fifth piece – you’ll also need to see Chapter 5 of the main story covered, before making your way to the Boetia region. The first quest is called “Praxilla’s Admirer”, and it is recommended that your minimum Level is 34.

We will also see the legendary Cyclops Arges – better known as the Bright One – rocking up too, and taking down this beast will see you granted access to his legendary weapon – the Hamme of Hephaistos. Residing on a Volcanic island in the Angry Caldera of Arges, you’ll want to be sitting at level 50 or above before even thinking about taking on Arges.

January will also see new packs and features hitting Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, with the Dionysos Pack containing a gear set, mount and a legendary dagger. If that doesn’t take your fancy then the Athena Character & Naval Pack will arrive later this month.

Further new features will also arrive via the latest title update and the most exciting is that of a Level Scaling setting. Hitting up the options menu you will be able to customize how drastically the enemies will scale to their level, allowing you to customise the game like never before. Bear in mind though, the option will not be available in Nightmare Difficulty mode to maintain its challenging nature. You will also find that 2 new tiers are to be added to the Mercenary Ladder, whilst a new vendor will be added to the game – Hephaistos’ Workshop will be found in the Myson Cave in the Malis region.

Will the arrival of the second part of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Legacy of the First Blade, or the multitude of gameplay updates push you into a return to the game? Let us know in the comments.
