It’s been a while since we last saw anything from the Mass Effect universe, five years in fact since the arrival of Mass Effect 3, but today changes all that with another of the year’s biggest releases, Mass Effect: Andromeda.
Yep, it’s finally here to take us to a new and distant galaxy, in an all new story that sees us leave the trusted shoes of Commander Shepherd once and for all and instead take on the role of a new hero, in the form of either Scott or Sara Ryder as you look to find a new home for humanity.
The adventure starts off with your character, along with 20’000 others who made the 600-year journey to the Andromeda galaxy, onboard a humungous ship as they begin to awake from cryosleep and start their new adventure in the Andromeda galaxy. Mass Effect: Andromeda looks set to bring more of the beloved RPG action that Bioware are best known for to the Xbox One for the first time.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is a complete new adventure from those we last ventured into with the original trilogy and those looking to jump in are sure to be set for a lengthy adventure of exploration on vast unknown open-world environments.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is available to download now for Xbox One, PS4 and PC with a UK release set a little later for March 23rd. Those wanting to get in on the action can do so with either the Standard (£54.99), Deluxe (£69.99) or Super Deluxe (£89.99) editions, with each increase in price bringing extra goodies to the market. If you hold an active EA Access subscription, you can pick up the game with the exclusive EA discount or try things out first with the 10-hour trial also available.

I’m in the UK so have to wait until Thursday but yeah I’ve already pre-ordered it… Getting the Collectors Edition with the Nomad RC Buggy along with the digital Deluxe Edition for all the bonus DLC (that annoyingly doesn’t come with the collectors edition). Also bought the Novel that will hopefully fill in the backstory to the Andromeda universe whilst I’m waiting for the game to arrive. Roll on Thursday!
