Capcom haven’t been shy to bring the Blue Bomber to the modern gaming masses with all manner of collections and new games – Mega Man 11 for instance – pushing Mega Man out to new audiences. Now though they are readying themselves once more as the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection has seen a release date confirmed.

Coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC come January 21st 2020, you’ll want to grab your Z-Saber and prepare for a mega time as icons from the past and new heroes combine to unite the Mega Man Universe in the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection.

Available as a digital download, this will bring together all four Mega Man Zero games, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man ZX Advent together for the first time, as a whole new type of gamer gets to enjoy them. Priced up at an SRP of €29.99/£24.99, you’ll be treated to challenging boss battles, fast-paced platforming and precise combat.

Making the move from hand-held to full-sized screens for the first time, the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will allow nostalgic players to choose to play using the original sprite art, or, should they prefer, go bot bashing with a new HD-smoothing filter attached. Whether you will be new to the series, or a veteran of the Mega Man scene, everyone will be able to cut a path through the Zero and ZX series’ stories by utilising the optional Casual Scenario mode to reduce each game’s difficulty. There will also be a Save-Assist system to create save points mid-mission for a more approachable narrative experience – you know, because old-skool gaming is such a faff.

Additionally, those looking to take a break from the action, wishing to dive into the in-game gallery, will find more than 600 pieces of original production art from each series, while also having the chance to listen in to the music player’s complete selection of both original compositions and new arrangements.

If you’re a fan of Mega Man and are looking for a proper challenge then the Mega man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection will offer that too, letting you test your Biometal against the all new Z Chaser challenge mode. More details on this new mode will be revealed at a later time.

So, will a purchase of the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection be something you’ll be enjoying? You can pre-order the collection right now on Xbox One if you so wish. Just pop over to the Xbox Store and get your cash dropped.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
