Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor may not have been the most anticipated game when it released back in 2014, but things quickly changed when the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit spinoff gained a cult following shortly after release. Since that point things haven’t really died off either, so when the Middle Earth: Shadow of War announcement was made official, it’s fair to say it had many of us excited.
Whilst we haven’t been totally void of information since its announcement, it’s fair to say that it would be nice to know a little more about one of the years most anticipated titles. Today that comes in the form of a new trailer, one which shows off the some of the interesting places players will be able to explore in the open-world environment, such as Cirith Ungol, Gorgoroth and the Island of Nurn amongst many others.
Another feature shown off in the trailer is the return of the classic combat that fans grew to love first time round. With brutal animations showing off some truly spectacular combos, it’s fair to say those who enjoyed the fluid combat last time have plenty to be excited about.
Middle Earth: Shadow of War is set to follow on from the events of Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, whilst bringing back the original nemesis system to ensure players have a completely different experience on each playthough of the games “richer, more personal and expansive world” according to Developer Monolith.
Those interested in taking a look at the new environments can do so now by checking out the trailer below.
