Mixing Thomas with Dark Souls, Alteric hits Xbox One and Nintendo Switch

-

It’s a 2D platformer which comes with more than a hint of ‘Thomas Was Alone’ about it. But unlike that delightful little puzzler, Alteric also delivers a difficulty level akin to that of Dark Souls. Do you have what it takes to tackle the obstacles and bosses found within?

Available right now on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Alteric asks you plenty of questions. Are you lonely? Or stuck? Where are you? Do you have any clue? These questions and a ton more will be running through your mind throughout your time with Alteric. Whether you actually find the answers to them by the end of it is anyone’s guess!

A single player 2D platformer, Alteric will have you trying to navigate your little white cube through a variety of stages, hopping past obstacles, tackling physics, worrying about gravity and taking on the most horrendous of bosses.

If you feel like that is for you, then you should be heading to the Microsoft Store (or eShop should you be more Switch focused) and grabbing Alteric for just £3.99. Should you wish to know more, then our full review will happily sort you out!

Game Description:

But your soul is still there. It’s a piece of light energy trapped in the alien space between two worlds. Alteric A single player 2D-platformer Bright minimalistic graphics Hardcore gameplay with physics, gravity and logic 2 interconnected parallel worlds A variety of obstacles and dangerous bosses Atmospheric soundtrack According to the developers – ‘We tried to develop a game in such a way that the player realized: here, Thomas meets with Dark Souls’

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
