Adventure, secrets and all that precious booty! AYE AYE CAPTAIN! – and all without the sickness of the seven seas. That’s right as for two weeks from February 1st, Monkey Island 2: Special Edition is free for all Xbox Live Gold members.

Take on the life of Guybrush Threepwood, and tackle the tale of the hidden treasure – all whilst keeping the advancing dangers posed by the ghost of LeChuck at bay, as the classic Xbox 360 point and click adventure drops its £6.75 price tag in search of some hearty crew mates. Or just regular Xbox gamers with a valid Xbox Live Gold subscription, to help them find their way to the pieces of the lost map.

Monkey Island 2: Special Edition can be played on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One via backwards compatibility and can be grabbed on the Xbox Games Store right now. If you want to find out more about the games available this month, head on over to our article before picking up your free games.

Monkey Island™ 2 Special Edition: LeChuck’s Revenge™ faithfully re-imagines the original classic in signature special edition detail. Plus, interact with the world of Monkey Island™ like never before with new direct-character controls, an interactive object highlight system, behind the scenes art viewer and creator commentary featuring the original developers of Monkey Island™ 2: LeChuck’s Revenge™!
