If you like watching motor racing, then you probably like NASCAR. Similarly, if you like the chance to hit the circuit in video gaming terms, then NASCAR Heat 3 is certainly appealing. Whilst never up there with the likes of Forza, the NASCAR experience will always be a bit of a draw to many – perhaps that is how such a high price tag can be charged for the DLC packs. Supply and demand I guess!?!

Available right now is the October DLC pack for NASCAR Heat 3, coming in hot with a price tag of £10.39. Now, that in itself may seem okay – after all, we’re used to seeing DLC drops arrive in varying price categories – but the monthly NASCAR packs don’t exactly bring a lot of content for the cash requested.

This time round we see no less than 43 paint schemes, including 10 from the NASCAR XFINITY Series and a further 9 from the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Of course, 43 is a decent number, but you must always take into consideration that these are ‘just’ paint scheme. Nothing more, nothing less.

Granted, the addition of 3 new Challenges may well sell the pack, whilst a bit of audio spotting from Alex Hayden is nice, but at the end of the day you’ll find yourself paying a considerable amount of cash for what equates to some skins.

If you wish to go down that route then by all means pay the Xbox Store a visit. But with a £39.99 price hitting the base game, it’s not a cheap racer by any means. But hey, who are we to tell you what you can do with your money.
