New gameplay video released for psychological RPG Sacred Fire

-

Sacred Fire, the first game from indie dev Poetic Studio is currently in development, but today we get a little peek into the world it delivers as a developer commentary gameplay video is released.

The visually unique, psychological RPG game which will be releasing on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in the Spring of 2018 is all about survival, power and hope, as you lead a band of resistance fighters in Caledonia against the invading Roman Empire.

With the narrative pushing things along, Sacred Fire brings the vocal talent of Doug Cockle (Geralt from The Witcher 3) as you get pushed into a struggle for survival, try to gain political influence and head off in pursuit of inner balance, something which will be presented in a distinctive cinematic art style.

“We are excited to provide an in-depth look at Sacred Fire, which offers a unique narrative-based RPG experience where, as we say, your heart hides all of the monsters. The gameplay slice from our prologue demonstrates how the game is presented, and how the story will evolve based on the tactical decisions made during the choice driven narrative and cinematic turn-based combat,” says Andrej Vojtas, Creative Director, Poetic Studios.

With Poetic Studio’s custom “Emotions & Motivations” storytelling platform, you’ll be set to resolve conflicts in Sacred Fire by using a combination of smarts, skill, looks or empathy. Building inner balance is key to coping with things such as fear and anger, and only a stable and strong personality will be able to win respect with bravery in combat, deal with the political turmoil within their own ranks and rise above the fog of war to lead Caledonia to her fate.

Will you be able to embrace revenge and bring about freedom for yourself and your people? Or will you be left to fight for a better world through courage, sacrifice and diplomacy?

You’ll probably only find out when the game releases next year. Because for now, the videos below will have to be enough to keep you contented.
