What new Xbox One and Xbox 360 games are ‘In Stores This Week’? – 22nd-28th January 2018

-

The first major titles of 2018 are starting to arrive for the Xbox One, with no less than three completely different games heading to stores this week. Expect to choose between a frantic fighting game, a monster hunting expedition and a more melancholic railway experience. So let’s take a look at what’s ‘In Stores This Week’ for Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Railway Empire – 26th January – Xbox One

If you head on over to platform X1, you’ll be able to create an elaborate rail network across the United States. All aboard!

Railway Empires features over 40 historically accurate locomotives to be used in the most efficient way to establish a comprehensive rail network to rival all others. You can compete against up to three other companies to really put your business skills to the test, whilst occasionally resorted to underhanded tactics to get one over on your rivals with the usage of bandits and spies. Ultimately the aim is to master the scenarios and challenges given to you by optimising your network, improving it with technology, and managing a workforce. For the more laid back approach, there’s always the construction mode, which is free of financial restraints.

Dragon Ball FighterZ – 26th January – Xbox One

The Dragon Ball universe is set to be brought to life, for the first time, in the form of a classic 2.5D fighting game. Join Goku, Krillin, Gohan and co. in frenetic 3vs3 tag team action as you initiate amazing super moves, perform aerial combos and cause destruction within the environment. Aside from the modes involving battling other humans, a story mode exists in which players must fight to discover what’s happened to cause all the super warriors to lose consciousness upon the arrival of a group of clones. One thing’s for sure, it’ll be gloriously reproduced to look as vibrant as the famous anime, especially when recreating scenes from the iconic series.

Monster Hunter: World – 26th January – Xbox One

In Monster Hunter: World you’ll become the hunter as you are tasked going on a research expedition, with the goal of discovering more about a newly uncovered continent. It’s a living, breathing ecosystem that’s ever-changing, which is something you’ll have to deal with while you slay the ferocious beasts that inhabit this world, leading to heart-pounding battles across all sorts of terrains. Using the environment to your advantage is crucial as you partake in a multitude of quests; with crafting new gear also playing a vital role in exploiting the creatures’ weaknesses. What’s more, players can tackle these challenges either alone or alongside up to three other hunters online for cooperative play.

Been gaming casually since the SNES as a youngster but found my true passion for games on the Playstation 1 (the forbidden word ooo). My addiction grew to its pinnacle with the purchase of an Xbox 360 & Xbox Live Service. A recovering GS hunter that will still play literally any game.
