Razer release ultra-light multi-platform gaming headset – the Razer Kraken X

The whole world knows of Razer as the creator of high performance gaming peripherals, laptops, phones and more – the stunning Razer Turret for Xbox One, for instance – but now it is they who are pushing out a new product, an ultra-light, multi-platform, gaming headset – the Kraken X.

The Razer Kraken X is the company’s latest headset that will be hugely appealing to a wide range of gamers, running not just with 7.1 surround sound as standard – something which will be the case in all of Razer’s 2019 headsets – but with a weight penalty of just 250 grams, it is also extremely light, allowing for non-stop gaming without a hint of fatigue.

Available for purchase right now, the Kraken X is a wired headset that has been designed to be ultra-light, hugely comfortable, and with a price that won’t break the bank. Promising superior comfort for all-day sessions, it features a fresh redesign that slims down the familiar Razer Kraken profile to an extremely light weight of just 250 grams (0.55 lbs), making it one of the lightest gaming headsets in the market today. You can pair that up with soft memory foam ear cushions, glasses-friendly eyewear channels and an adjustable headband, and that all ensures that the Kraken X serves as an undeniably comfortable gaming headset.

Further to that and Razer have made a commitment to ensure that all of their headsets from 2019 will come with the best possible sound too, and that means even this entry level Kraken X features 7.1 surround sound instead of stereo audio seen on competitive budget-friendly gaming headsets. Delivering a true competitive advantage, the 7.1 surround sound software provides accurate positional audio in the middle of battle. It is a critical gaming element that helps pinpoint where the danger is coming from. 7.1 surround sound is available with the Kraken X on Windows 10 64-bit.

“The Kraken X is great for any gamer,” says Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Peripherals at Razer. “It’s ultra-light and incredibly comfortable, so you can game for hours with it. It is the companion of choice for domination and immersion in your game with 7.1 surround sound.”

And still the goodies keep coming and the Kraken X is built with a bendable cardiod microphone, with a tight pickup pattern that suppresses noise from the back and sides so your voice will always sound crystal clear to your teammates. A microphone mute switch and volume controls can be found directly on the earcup for quick and easy access. It also uses a universal 3.5mm connection to ensure that it is compatible with Xbox One, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
