Playing as the Van der Linde gang’s Arthur Morgan in this brand new Wild West narrative, you will be constantly on the run from the feds across a hugely diverse recreation of late 19th Century America. But as the unending pressure of arrest starts to rip apart the gang from the inside, it falls upon yourself to carve out your own story. This is one of heroism or evil, as your own decisions within the open world will affect how people react to your version of Arthur, and also open up unique events within the world.
Aside from story-based content and there will be quite frankly a ridiculous amount of side content to get stuck into, and extensive, realistic character customisation is a huge draw of RDR 2. The realism really doesn’t stop there either – regularly eating, feeding your horse and even cleaning dirty weapons will be a necessity if you wish to operate to your optimum when in combat and exploring the world. Bonding with your trusty steed in order to gracefully gallop through the heartland will be integral to success, similar to the original Red Dead Redemption.
There really aren’t enough hours in the day to mention every aspect of RDR 2, so just know that if you want to become immersed in one of the most alive and biggest open-worlds gaming has to offer, and experience a unique Western plot, then Red Dead Redemption 2 is a must-buy. Oh – and that goes without mentioning the huge online scene that should be arriving before the year is out!
